Thin market

A Thin market is a market with low liquidity or low number of market participants, usually characterized by larger spread.
Thin market is opposite to liquid market.
Thin market is also characterized by high volatility.
Currency, bonds, money market and mutual funds are considered liquid assets, however market conditions may change and they could become less liquid or thin market.
Gold and Silver are fairly liquid,  however when Asian markets are open we may have Thin market or low liquidity usually characterized by larger spread.
