Equity

The Equity of a Trading Account is value of a trading account minus the margin required for the current open positions.
The Equity is the total dollar value that you have in your trading account if there are no open positions.
When the Equity is getting closer to zero we start to receive margin calls.
On most of the Trading Platforms, clients can set the level of margin calls.

How to calculate the Equity ?

If the your Unrealized Gross Profit is negative, the Equity equals the Balance minus the Unrealized Gross Profit.
Equity = Balance - Unrealized Gross Profit

If the your Unrealized Net Profit is positive, the Equity equals the Balance plus the Unrealized Net Profit.
Equity = Balance + Unrealized Net Profit
