A
  • Automated Trading → ATS - Automated Trading System is a program, software or system that operates inside a computer and creates automatically buy or sell orders to a brokerage house, market or exchange.
  • Asynchronous execution → An Asynchronous execution is when a request was send to the server and without waiting for the response from the server is sending the next request.
  • Aussie dollar Index Line ChartIts a line chart of AUD value against 7 currencies: USD, EUR, JPY, CHF, CAD, GBP and NZD

  • Bar → A Bar or Bars are composed of the Open, High, Low and Close of a period

  • Bullish → The word Bullish is characterized by rising prices.

  • Bull Market → The Market is going up.

  • Bearish → The word Bearish is characterized by falling prices.

  • Bear Market → The Market is going down.

  • Bullish Bar → When the "close" of the Bar is significantly greater than "open" of the Bar

  • Bearish Bar When the "open" of the Bar is significantly greater than "close" of the Bar

  • Bullish Candle → When the "close" of the Candle is significantly greater than "open" of the Candle.

  • Bearish Candle → When the "open" of the Candle is significantly greater than "close" of the Candle

  • Bonds → The Bond is like a loan, the issuer is the borrower (debtor), the holder is the lender (creditor)

  • Brexit / British exit → The United Kingdom (UK)  withdraw from the European Union (EU)

  • Dark Pool → Is a private securities exchange. Traders, Financial institutions and Investors can make trades anonymously.

  • Derivatives A Derivative is a product who is derived from one or more underlying assets.

  • Drawdown The difference between a peak and a trough of a trading account for a specific period of time

  • Equity The value of a trading account minus the margin required for the current open positions.

  • Euro Index Line Chart → Its a line chart of EUR value against 7 currencies: USD, GBP, JPY, CHF, CAD, AUD and NZD

  • Foreign exchange, Forex or FX → The Foreign exchange market is the largest market in the world and is trading in excess of 4 trillion USD every day (24 hours).
  • Fundamental analysis → Fundamental analysis is trying to determine the intrinsic value of a financial instrument
  • Futures → Futures of Futures contract are the same thing and it's a legal agreement to buy or sell commodity, currency, bonds, interest rate, equity and other financial instruments at a predetermined future date and price.
  • Futures exchange → A Futures exchange is a place where people can trade standardized futures contracts.

  • Hedge Hedging is one of the best trading strategies where no Stop Loss is used
  • High Frequency Trading → High Frequency Trading or HFT is a high speed and high volume trading executed by robots.

  • IFTA → The International Federation of Technical Analysts ( IFTA ) is a global organization of market analysis societies and Technical Analysis associations.
  • Index → Index / Indices measures the performance of an asset class, such as equity, commodity or currency
  • Indicators → In Technical Analysis an Indicator is a mathematical calculation on price and volume on a historical data.
  • Interest Rate → The amount of money measured in percentages per annum (PA) of an amount of money lent, deposited or borrowed.

  • Kagi chart A Kagi chart is a chart used to measure the price movements and does not have a time axis.

  • Leverage → The Leverage ratio is the minimum margin required by your Broker
  • Lot (Lots) 1 Lot is equal to 100,000 units or 100k of the base currency in the exchange rate of a currency

  • Line Chart →  Its a line connecting a series of points that represents a past closing price of a specific period ( day, hour, 10 min)

  • Minute Data The recorded minute price change collection of a per currency, stock, commodity, bonds and other financial instruments.

  • MiniLot 1 MiniLot is equal to 10,000 units or 10k of the base currency in the exchange rate of a currency, 1 MiniLot = 0.1 Lot
  • MicroLot 1 MicroLot is equal to 1,000 units or 1k of the base currency in the exchange rate of a currency, 1 MiicroLot = 0.1 MiniLot = 0.01 Lot
  • Momentum Indicators → Is a group of technical indicators that measures the speed at which prices move over a given time period.

  • Net Profit → The Net Profit is the difference between the Gross Profit and the cost of trading transactions and Broker Commissions.

  • New Zealand dollar Index Line Chart → Its a line chart of NZD value against 7 currencies: USD, EUR, JPY, CHF, GBP, AUD and CAD

  • OHLC → Open, High, Low and Close of a period

  • Option → An Option is a contract which gives the buyer the right, but not the obligation, to buy or sell an instrument at a specific price on a predefined date. Options are derivatives of financial securities, commodities, bonds or currencies.
  • Oscillator Indicators A group of indicators designed to measure the direction and speed of changing prices.

  • Peak / Peaks → A peak is a high turning point, usually it refers to a chart. The opposite of a peak is the trough.

  • Pip (Pips) A pip is a unit in the per currency quote. 1 pip in the all JPY(Japanese Yen) per currencies is 0.01. 1 pip in all the other per currencies is 0.0001

  • Pipette (Pipettes) A pipette is a unit in the per currency quote. 1 pipette in the all JPY(Japanese Yen) per currencies is 0.001 and 1 pipette in all the other per currencies is 0.00001


Q

  • Quantitative analysis → Uses mathematical measurements, calculations and statistical modeling in order to predict markets behavior.

  • RSI → The RSI (relative strength index) is a momentum oscillator and is measured on a scale from 0 to 100.

  • Spread → Ask - Bid = Spread. The Spread is mostly used in Currency Trading
  • STP Straight Through Processing. When you are trading through a STP platform, you are direct connected with the liquidity provider.

  • Swap → The exchange of the interest rate between two currencies.
  • Swiss franc Index Line Chart → Its a line chart of CHF value against 7 currencies: USD, EUR, JPY, CAD, GBP, AUD and NZD
  • Synchronous execution → A Synchronous execution is when a request was send to the server and wait for the server response before is sending the next request.

  • Take Profit The exact rate where to close out an existing open position or a pending order

  • Thin market → A Thin market is a market with low liquidity or low number of market participants, usually characterized by larger spread.
  • Tick The minimum change in price over an executed trade(trades) of a per currency
  • Tick Data The recorded Tick movements price change collection of a per currency

  • Trailing Stop Trailing Stop is a variable Stop Order or Stop Loss Order.

  • Trader → A trader is an individual who buys and sells stocks, commodities, bonds, currency and derivatives.
  • Trend following indicators → Group of indicators designed to define trends objectively.
  • Trough / Troughs → A trough is a low turning point, usually it refers to a chart. The opposite of a trough is the peak.
  • Technical analysis → Technical analysis study the behavior of market participants reflected in price and volume

  • Volatility Is a statistical measure of variation in the price movement.
  • Volatility Indicators → The Volatility indicators  helps you identify when the market price movements are increasing.
  • Volume indicators → Is a group of technical indicators used in Technical Analysis and is using volume in the calculation.
